Look at You, Look at Me
1941
Current Publisher: Frank Music Corp.
Music by Jule Styne. Copyrighted April 16, 1941. Introduced by Bob Crosby and Susan Hayward. Styne (1905 – 1994) went on from Republic to a distinguished songwriting career. His Broadway musicals include High Button Shoes, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Bells are Ringing, Gypsy, and Funny Girl. Loesser was loaned to Republic at Styne’s request (with some lobbying by music director Cy Feuer, who would later co-produce Where’s Charley? and produce Guys and Dolls and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying). In exchange for Loesser, Republic got John Wayne from Paramount.
