"How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS fundraising winner



"How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" gave back to the community at the 25th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition. The competition raised close to four million dollars after six weeks of fundraising for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

"Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS is one of the nation's leading industry-based, nonprofit AIDS fundraising and grant-making organizations."

The grand total was announced at this year's competition event that ended with two shows from all sorts of acts from the seventeen participating shows. The three announcers to announce the winners at this year's show were Harvey Fierstein (La Cage aux Folles), Sutton Foster (Anything Goes) and Daniel Radcliffe (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying). The three Broadway stars also presented awards to the top fundraising companies and the outstanding bonnet presentation.

The awards ceremony was sold out and was held at the Minskoff Theatre.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS fundraising winner:

  • Broadway Musical Winner: How To Succeed with $271,916 raised
  • Broadway Runner up: Wicked with $165,979
  • Broadway 2nd Runner up: Billy Elliot with $151,363 raised
  • Broadway 3rd Runner up: Phantom of the Opera with $149,104 raised
