Family Don

Don created the role of Charles Clarke in the Tony award winning Broadway production of TITANIC and later returned to the show where he played radioman Harold Bride. Also on Broadway he played Leo Frank and Mr. Peavy in the original company of PARADE at The Vivian Beaumont Theatre, and appeared as Frank Lippencott in the revival of WONDERFUL TOWN at Lincoln Center. Don also starred Off-Broadway as Anatoly in Tim Rice's revised production of CHESS. His other New York credits include Bo Decker in BUS STOP (Maverick Theatre), Zach in THE TAVERN Equity Library Theatre), and Abe in YOUNG RUBE (Musical Theatre Works). Don performed in St. Petersburg, Russia in the play LOVE ? OR THEATRE?: THE LIFE OF CHARLOTTE SALOMON, which was produced by the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center. Among his regional credits are Bingo Little in BY JEEVES(Pittsburgh Public Theatre), Jack in WHERE'S CHARLEY(The Kennedy Center), the title role in SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE (Theatre Factory of St. Louis), Henrick in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC (American Stage Festival), Jim in THE GIFT OF THE MAGI (Actors Theatre of Louisville), Herman in THE MOST HAPPY FELLA (Theatre Under the Stars and Pittsburg Civic Light Opera), Max in LEND ME A TENOR ( Barter Theatre), and the title role in HAMLET (Clarence Brown Theatre). He can be seen as Patrick in the film LITTLE BROTHER, first place winner at the Metroland Film Festival, and in the upcoming film IT HAD TO BE YOU. Don can be heard on the recordings LOESSER BY LOESSER for DRG records, AN O'HENRY CHRISTMAS (Harbinger Records) and the original cast albums of TITANIC and PARADE for RCA. He sings the role of Nicely-Nicely on the London recording of GUYS AND DOLLS, reprises his role of Frank Lippencott in WONDERFUL TOWN, and plays Herman on THE MOST HAPPY FELLA all for JAY Records. On television he played the role of David Jordan on the soap ANOTHER WORLD for NBC, and has appeared on NOW AND AGAIN (CBS), ALL MY CHILDREN (ABC), and LAW AND ORDER (NBC). His performance of Bingo Little, in the new Alan Ayckbourn /Andrew Lloyd Webber production of BY JEEVES, has recently been filmed for broadcast on PBS Great Performances by Really Useful Films/ Tapestry Pictures Inc. Don is married to actress Emily Loesser.
